The Train Depot was a gift to the Punta Gorda Historical Society from the Babcock family. The society operates it as an Antique Mall at present and includes a small railroad related museum in the area which was formerly the Stationmasters office.
The station was built during times of segregation and had both colored and white waiting rooms.
Today those have also been turned into museum displays. The white waiting room has artifacts from old Punta Gorda from the Punta Gorda Historical Society and the colored waiting room has a display on educational reform. That display is maintained by the Blanchard House Museum.
